After our Glasgow rivals were sent crashing out of the Scottish Cup this weekend, it brought up an interesting point many Celtic fans feel compelled to call out.

Ronny Deila was the Celtic manager for two seasons. In that time the Norwegian won a double and just the league title in his second season.

Celtic were robbed in the semi-final by the officials who allowed an ICT player to save the ball on the line with his hand, in clear sight of the men in black. Celtic went out of the competition and Ronny didn’t get his treble.

The manager was hounded by the mainstream media in this country or he would simply get the patronising ‘He’s a nice guy, but….’ patter.

Ronny was deemed not to have done enough as Celtic manager by the media after winning three trophies out of six.

It’s therefore perplexing the juxtaposition the media take when it comes to the current manager across the city.

One trophy in nine and he’s an incredibly wonderful manager who should be a contender for the England job one day. What gives?

When this current season is in the books it will be known as a time where Celtic completely and utterly blew it. As we’ve seen in the cup ties, when they have no safety net they can’t help but trip up over their own boots.

The problem is, we provided them with a massive safety ned and cushion the entire season.

It can’t happen again.

  1. I see Brian of british (deliberate mistake) Alex rae is at it again today! The hun must now concentrate on the invincible!!!
What alternative reality do these morons live on?
Our Invincible Season included, as we all know, both the Scottish and League Cups, that’s what made it Invincible!
    We won EVERYTHING UNBEATEN!
What is it about that they don’t understand? And why is this ‘misunderstanding’ not being pointed out by the msm?
And no, there is no mention, ever, of an ‘invincible league’ season!
You really can make it up!
