Ronny Deila’s former player Martin Odegaard seems to be finding his new life at Real Madrid very stressful.
Reports today suggest that since his lucrative 80k per week deal was signed back in January the player has fallen out with Real Madrid reserve coach Zinedine Zidane and has subsequently been benched for his attitude.
The 16 year old refuses to train with the reserves during the week and will only take part in training sessions with his teammates on the eve of a game. The player and his agent quite happy to make Madrid stick to their pre-agreed training deal in his contract which stipulates he is to train with the main team 5 days a week.
While it maybe beneficial training along side the stars of Madrid it’s even more beneficial to strike up a rapport with the team you are actually playing in.
Ronny gave Martin his professional debut back when he was the Stromgodset manager, the player becoming the youngest to score for the club at the age of 15.
It sounds like Martin needs an arm round him as he tries to deal with the pressure that comes along with the hype that has surrounded him for over a year.
Send him up to Ronny for a season and he’ll sort him out!
