ROSENBORG player and inadvertent Celtic hero, Tore Reginiussen has taken to social media to thanks Celtic fans after some sent him Christmas cards and gifts for his part in Celtic’s Europa League drama.

The bhoys had put themselves in an excellent position going into the last game against Salzburg at home knowing only a draw would secure their place in the last 32.

However, Salzburg dominated the game and were beating Celtic 2-0 with minutes to go.

At that point, only a quick double or a Rosenborg goal against Leipzig would take Celtic through to the knockout stage of the competition. When it all looked over it was Tore that came from nowhere to stick the ball in the back of the net which sent Celtic Park into madness in the final few minutes of the game.

It was surreal, Celtic won a penalty with minutes to go, and Ntcham scored the rebound, but everybody was looking at their phones and trying to find out if the final whistle had gone in the Rosenborg game.

Celtic Park was transformed, and as the news filtered through to the bench and the player’s Celtic were through, the celebrations began.

While Celtic put themselves in the position to qualify we do give a pretty big assist to Tore, and he was highly amused some Celtic Fans thought of him at Christmas time.
