During a transfer window there is all sorts of speculation and links with players but is has been confirmed that Ross Barkley is not on Celtic’s radar. [Football Scotland].

Mark Hendry from Football Scotland has been near enough spot on with Celtic’s transfer targets this summer.

The 28-year old Chelsea midfield looks set to leave Stamford Bridge with there being a number of premier league sides interested in the former Everton midfielder.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed during his pre-match press conference before the visit to Dingwall on Friday that the Hoops were still active in the market.

It’s easy for links to be made to generate a headline but a move on loan to Celtic is well wide of the mark.

The reaction from many quarters said it all with it being compared to the flop signing of Aaron Ramsey by the Hoops title challengers last season.

Many Hoops fans would say there is greater priorities positionally just now with another attacking midfielder not being top of the shopping list.

With the Scottish champions still being active in the market many would like to see an attacking player possibly come to the club with the Hoops reportedly turning down the chance to sign winger Sead Haksabanovic from Rubin Kazan.

Defensive midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi is also out with an injury which leaves James McCarthy as cover with there being rumours around his future.

With just over three weeks to go in the transfer window there is sure to be many more twists and turns.
