It’s being reported this evening Roy Keane WOULD be interested in the Celtic job if he was approached about the vacant Parkhead position.

SunSport report the Manchester Utd legend still has a close affinity to his boyhood club and after turning down the job in 2014, he could be tempted to take on the role this summer.

Keane has been back in the pundit game since Nottingham Forest got rid of both him and Martin O’Neill after a short stint at the club.

Before that, Keane was in the Irish setup with O’Neill.

It was Peter Lawwell who eventually put Roy off the job the first time around because the outgoing chief executive, Peter Lawwell didn’t show he wanted him enough. Also not being able to pick his own backroom staff was a red flag for the Irishman.

Roy Keane is a legend in the game but I don’t think the majority of Celtic fans want another man with Celtic links whose biggest talent is motivation. We need to move on from the Neil Lennon types and find a great coach who can make out players better and can also be tactically astute.
