We’ve been waiting for some out there transfer rumours and we’ve got one this evening as RecordSport claim Celtic and Ange Postecoglou are weighing up sensational return for Erik Sviatchenko.

The Paper writes: It’s understood the 29-year-old former Invincible is on a list of potential transfer targets for new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Erik was signed for Celtic by Ronny Deila but was discarded by Brendan Rodgers. Half way through the invincible season, Erik was dropped for a resurgent Dedryk Boyata at the time and never really got back in the side.

The Dane was loaned back to his former club Mitjylland before a permanent deal was thrashed out for the centre-back.

Since then, the player has helped Mitjylland to more trophies and took part in a Champions league campaign.

There’s no doubt Erik had his fans at Celtic and at 29, could he had some much needed experience to the squad?

As we say, this is a rumour coming from The Record and hasn’t passed the sniff test at the moment. It would be a strange return but football can throw up some random stories. The paper claims the Dane has a buyout clause in his deal.

We’ve reached out to Erik.
