In the last few weeks, there has been a lot of talks around now Liverpool and former Preston North End defender Ben Davies, after he came close to joining the Hoops on a pre-contract deal.

When a club like Liverpool come calling, there is not really which doubt which club you would be joining. However, as reported by the Sunday Mirror, there looks to have been a clause in Davies pre-contract talks which may have helped sway his decision.

It is thought that Celtic included an ‘injury-free’ clause, which required the defender to be fit when he completed his move to the club.

Davies was incredibly close to signing on with Celtic for the up and coming season but in swooped Liverpool to snatch the defender away from Neil Lennon’s side.

This left many fans frustrated, as they felt that if we acted quicker we may have been able to get the 25-year old signed up earlier in the month, whether that be on a permanent or for the future.

Now, this clause he been discovered, it just adds to that frustration further.
