CHRIS SUTTON believes there is one man at Celtic who has used all his lifelines and should be marched straight back to the bench.

The former Celtic striker brought up the recent form of Scott Sinclair and the trust Brendan Rodgers has put in him to give the midfielder a run of games after some poor form over the past year.

Having seen Sinclair play against Salzburg, it was the final straw for the BT Sports Pundit who vented on his RecordSport column.

“Scott Sinclair has run out of chances for me. He was in and out of the side when his form dipped but Rodgers have given him a run but it’s not been good enough.

“Look at that chance he had in the first half against Salzburg. It was a terrific ball from James Forrest but Sinclair was hiding behind the defender when he should have been throwing himself at the ball.

“Not good enough.”

Sinclair had a blistering first season, followed up by a mediocre second season and his third season has been indifferent for many.

The biggest source of frustration for fans is knowing how good he can play but there’s just something missing at times for the Englishman.

On his day, Sinclair could be one of Celtic’s best players.

How long will Rodgers persevere with his 2016 signing before he pulls the plug on his run in the team?

  1. Totally agree, he is making Kieran look bad as he having to cover for him and is not showing after lung bursting shuttle runs up and down the wing. Enought is enough I’m afraid.
