CELTIC’s pursuit of Carl Starfelt has stalled for now with the player still training for Rubin Kazan ahead of their tie against Sochi tomorrow.

The Swede was rumoured to be undergoing a medical in Moscow ahead of a move to Celtic in midweek, but it’s still not got any further forward at the moment.

Since Carl has been linked with a medical, Celtic have brought in Liel Abadal from Israel and Kyogo Furuhashi from Japan.

Celtic are in dire need of defensive reinforcements but Kristoffer Ajer’s deal out of Celtic has not been completed yet. Perhaps the club are waiting to complete Ajer’s deal before confirming Starfelt.

The game on Tuesday is going to be very interesting. Celtic are going into the Champions League qualifier with less than the bare minimum. Ajer hasn’t kicked a ball in pre-season yet but will we call on him for Tuesday before he heads to the Premier League?

Starfelt looks like a suitable replacement for the Norweigan and you can only hope Celtic’s momentum of signing new players makes his incoming inevitable in the next few days.

  1. DONT LET aJER ANYWHERE NEAR THE TEAM rather have one of the youngsters in the team at least you’ll be guaranteed 100% effort for the team from him and from what ive seen in the pre season games we are not short in that department.

  2. The department Celtic are missing the most is inside D.D’s head. He hasn’t anything Celtic in it and my prediction has come true about his business and political interests. Shove it to the fans, I am signing another zionist. I am signing players to make money, this time from Asia, with more to follow. Lots of jerseys to sell there then and no doubt a big backhander from his zionist friends. Celtic as a football club are in freefall with another deterioration in player standards and the domination of the micro-managed management structure. However, the board and shareholders finances are safe….for another year.

  3. Celtic need to sign Starfelt and the Serbian. Ajer is gone, in his head if not physically. Chris Jullien is unreliable and will be injured more than fit for the rest of his career. Look to punt him asap. For once Celtic need to do what is necessary and sign what is needed instead of counting the pennies.

  4. Ever consider why a club who have been in decline for several years, firstly in Europe and now recently in Scotland, with no football planning and only prevarication in the transfer market, have such business acumen ? Maybe the man at the top knows that a sizeable majority of the punters are gullible mugs and will take their medicine unquestioningly ??? reading the exclusive book that is media conjecture.

  5. Ever consider why a business is so successful when, what people think is its main product, playing football, has been in decline for years in the big arena Europe and more recently the small arena Scotland ? Maybe because the man at the top knows the mug punters will continue to fill his pockets by buying the side products while staying at home with their sole reading material, media! A plethora of fantasy and conjecture !
