Over the weekend there has been a link between Nice and Celtic star Ryan Christie. Although the transfer window has closed, January preparations will already be underway at a lot of clubs behind the scenes.

Celtic will certainly not be standing still.

At the end of this season, Ryan will be coming into his final year at the club where decisions will have to be made.

The midfielder’s contract runs out in 2022 so he’s calm about the whole thing.

For Celtic, they know what can happen when a player gets to their final year; you either get a fraction of the value of the player or they can sign a pre-contract when they enter the last six months.

It’s imperative Celtic stop that from happening but while Ryan has said he’s spoke to the boss briefly about it – nobody is around the table yet.

“I’ve spoken to the manager a few times up to this point. With everything going on, I didn’t think it was the right time to go into it.” Ryan explained to Sunsport.
“We hadn’t played football in so long and weren’t back playing. Obviously, now it’s a bit different but I’ve still got plenty of time on my current contract.
“Before this one I was down to five months to go at Celtic until we signed a new deal, so there’s plenty of time for that to resolve itself.
“I’m just enjoying football again after the long break. It’s not occupying my thoughts just now and I’ve said that to the manager as well.”

  1. If he’s not signed new contract by Xmas, sell him, we don’t want players who are not committed 100% to CELTIC, and the same applies to the rest.
