RYAN CHRISTIE’S future is still very much up in the air as we head towards the start of the competitive season.
The midfielder is running down his contract with no sign he’s ready to talk to Celtic about a new deal.
According to RecordSport, Christie is now attracting interest from Serie A side Sampdoria.
The player has been linked with a multitude of clubs but this is the first time Sampdoria has come into the picture. It seems a bit left field, but Ryan’s agent could be doing the rounds to see who’s interested.
Right now, it looks like the Celtic exit is inevitable for the former Caley Thistle man.
Ryan has had his ups and downs at the club but there’s an acceptance he’s always wanted to play away from the Hoops at some point in his career.
I think the midfielder fancies a go at the English Premier League; however, he could be tempted by an Italian. club. Many Celtic players leave for one of the perceived top five leagues.
Christie, like a lot of his teammates least season, didn’t cover himself in glory and many fans aren’t too fussed about seeing the back of him if he does go.
It has to be said – Ryan was played out of position and really played two games in a row in the same spot during last season. Forced out to the right with James Forrest’s injury, the player was instructed to take some of the wild shots we witnessed.
