Ryan Christie has lifted the lid on the ‘scare’ he had during the Salzburg game and admitted it looked bad at first.

Christie sacrificed himself to try and shut down a Salzburg attack before it had begun but in doing so went down and never got back up.

The midfielder was stretchered off the Celtic Park turf and had to have his leg secured before the stretcher could take him off the field.

After his fantastic form over the past three months, the sight of the player being taken off in that manner sucked the air out of Celtic Park at the time.

It was a long wait to find out what had actually gone wrong with Christie admitting it was considered he could have suffered a fracture.

“There were a few scares that I might have broken my leg or there was a fracture but as soon as I got the x-ray results and it was all clear I was delighted.” Christie told CelticTV.

Had it been as bad as first feared, his season . could have been over.

Christie looks likely to start at Ibrox especially with Tom Rogic unavailable for selection. If the young star plays to his potential, he could really do some damage.
