Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie has officially left the club, signing for English Championship side AFC Bournemouth.

Reports have suggested that the Hoops will make around £1.5 million in the deal for the 26-year old, who has now returned to the Scotland international camp in Copenhagen this evening.

Throughout the summer, Christie is one of the players who has had much speculation due to his contract situation, which was set to expire in January.

This led to interest from the likes of Burnley. However, recent reports have suggested that the midfielder turned down the chance to join the English Premier League side in order to head to the south coast and join Scott Parker’s Bournemouth side.

The best way to sum up the midfielders Celtic career is that it was very up and down.

From loan spells to Aberdeen, his resurgence under former manager Brendan Rodgers, before finally having a disappointing campaign last season.

It looked like he was getting back to his best under new boss Ange Postecoglou, but we won’t be seeing that anymore with him completing his move to the Championship.
