When we talk about squad overhaul many fans look at the likes of Edouard and Ajer who haven’t hidden their desire to play elsewhere next season.

There’s an inevitability about some of the players leaving the club this summer.

One man who hasn’t really been put into the wantaway bracket is Ryan Christie but covering Celtic and Ryan’s development for a long time, quotes and what his father Charlie has said on various platforms, it’s clear Ryan sees his future down south.

I think Celtic will sell the midfielder should they get a good fee for Ryan.

But what is a good fee?

TransferMarkt have Ryan sitting at £8m at the moment? Is that a fair fee after the season he’s had??

There’s no doubt Ryan is a talent and he was a breath of fresh air under Rodgers. Under Neil Lennon he became a shot hungry footballer who hit row Z more often than not which frustrated fans.

At 26, it’s probably the right time for the Scottish midfielder to move on. £8m would be a decent fee, if we had a sell-on clause, we could recoup a little bit more down the line also.

What would you reasonably want Celtic to take for the Celtic star?

  1. A Scottish attacking midfielder with huge potential who seems to have gone backward. I was (and still want to be) a Ryan Christie fan. He’s the type of player, not unlike Nakamura in his day, who can drift out of games and then suddenly win it with one shot.
Can he be coached back to top form? If yes then I’d prefer to keep him
If he really wants to go and thinks he’s good enough for the EPL (right now he’s not) then I’d easily take the 8M.

  2. The sooner the better. If John Kennedy keeps playing him and Eduoard the question I would ask – “Is Kennedy complicit in sabotaging this season?” Whatever their reasons for this sabotage the relationship between Eduoard/Christie and CFC is now toxic and they should never be allowed to pull on a Celtic jersey again.
