Sky Sports let the cat out of the bag by claiming Celtic had made an approach to take Spurs left-back Ryan Sessegnon on loan for the rest of the season.

The young English player has found first-team football hard to come by under Jose Mourinho since his big-money move to Spurs last year.

The London club appear open to letting Ryan go out on loan but the financial stumbling blocks of any deal with Ryan’s wages could be enough for Celtic and in-particular Peter Lawwell to walk away.

Football Insider are claiming Ryan will push for a move to Celtic if a deal is on the table. The online publication claiming Ryan wants to go to a side where he will be a key player from the off. No disrespect to Greg Taylor but if Ryan did come in, that’s exactly what would happen.

We can’t speak to the validity of the claim by FI and we would take it with a pinch of salt. However, there’s no doubt it would be a deal which would even top Shane Duffy’s acquisition if Celtic could land the defender.
