Signed by Neil Lennon during the Irishman’s first stint in charge of the Club, Kris Commons believes his former boss is just two games away from the sack and it could be all over by this time next week.

Celtic have failed to win in three and the clouds over Celtic Park right now are gathering.

Commons thinks the games against Lille and Aberdeen will have a big say in what happens next at Celtic. Strangely though, both games will be outside the SPFL pressures but it could give a gauge of how much our manager has in him to get them playing.

It’s been a poor week for Celtic but there’s no time to dwell, if they can’t find a way to get back winning, nobody is immune to being sacked.

The players showed they had fight in them on Sunday against Aberdeen so if there was any noises about players not turning up for the manager, that should surely quell them.

In the end, it was defensive lapses by the whole team which saw Celtic just take one point instead of three.

Commons thinks it’s a big week for Celtic writing in his Daily Mail column as cited by The Sun.

“If Celtic end up getting turned over in those two games, I genuinely feel Lennon will be in serious danger of losing his job this time next week.”

“Deep down, he will probably know that himself. If avoiding defeat yesterday managed to stave off a full-blown crisis, he will know he’s not out of the woods yet.

“He’s still under major pressure in this season where, in the eyes of Celtic supporters, every single dropped point merits at least a government inquiry.

“What would help Lennon’s cause, mind you, is if his star centre-back started doing what was asked of him.”
