FORMER Celtic striker Lassad Nouinoui has been told to retire from football by doctors after the player suffered a heart attack in a training session with Spanish club Toledo.

The player spent a number of days in a come after the incident and his club said it could have been much worse if it wasn’t for the fast acting medical treatment Lassad received.

His club sent out a short message as the player recovers from the incident.

“Lassad would like to thank everyone from around the world who has contacted him to express their good wishes.

“He now needs a period of rest and recovery.”

Lassad played 12 times for Celtic scoring 3 goals. He was signed by former Celtic boss Neil Lennon and only managed a short stint in Glasgow before moving on.

Everyone at CeltsAreHere wishes him all the best with his future outside the game.
