Former Celtic striker Georgios Samaras could be heading to La Liga.
The Greek international has been without a club since Celtic let him go and Spanish side Malaga are ready to make a move for the striker.
Sammy told fans at the end of last season that he was going because the money men failed to offer him a new deal.
“I’m leaving, that’s for sure, but it was not my decision. I never had an offer from the club.” He said.
“I have been seven years at the club and I would have loved to stay. I had a chat with the manager(Neil Lennon). He would have loved me to stay and I was happy to stay but me and the gaffer don’t make the decisions – there are people higher up.
The big Greek was a divisive figure during his 7 years with the club. You either loved or hated him, there was rarely an in-between.
He was part of massive highs – scoring the winning goal in Moscow to break Celtic’s Champions League away day hoodoo to the lows of Hampden park vs Ross County where a sorry Celtic side got knocked out the Scottish cup by then 1st division outfit.
All summer long there has been speculation that the player could make a return to Celtic under the new managerial team, the longer he has went without signing for another club it has added fuel to that fire. This new development may very well put this to rest.
He wont be without a club for too much longer either way with Hamburg, Sevilla, Lokomotiv Moscow, Southampton and Besiktas also interested in his services.
