CHARLIE MULGREW has truly had a new lease of life down south with Blackburn after a sticky first season.

The former Celtic utility man had a disastrous first season after being brought to the club on a free by then manager Owen Coyle.

The English outfit were relegated to League One last term but thanks to renewed vigor under former Celtic Boss Tony Mowbray and Charlie Mulgrew the Ewood Park side have bounced back to the Championship.

Charlie has been in outstanding form all season and has contributed 13 goals to the cause, including the clincher on Tuesday night against Doncaster which confirmed their promotion.

Blackburn have only lost one game since mid-October and the late winner from Charlie ensured his place in Blackburn history.

After the match, the player was mobbed by fans for his efforts.

With two games to go Blackburn are only one point off leaders Wigan, Charlie and the boys could potentially still win the league.
