Celtic look set to offload unwanted midfielder Scott Allan to Rotherham on an initial one-year loan deal.

The player who made a lot of headlines signing for Celtic back under Ronny Deila has never really been given a fair crack of the whip.

Under Ronny Deila he was rarely used and people believed Rodgers would see the potential in the midfielder but it would seem he is surplus to requirements at this point.

Whether Rodgers wants the midfielder to go out and get some first team football and hoping to be part of long term fans remains to be seen. But with the Irishman sculpting his squad with a fresh perspective it cannot be good news if the player is sent out elsewhere.

If the deal goes ahead he will link up with former manager Alan Stubbs who took on the Rotherham job after the end of last season. At this point Allan really wants to be playing first-team football.

  1. I sincerely hope this is merely a loan deal for the Bhoys to gain some more first team experience.
This is not a lad we want to lose.

  2. Scott is a decent player but was really given a chance with a run of games. Hope he does well with big Stubbsy and who knows, may come back much improved.

  3. Can’t believe BR can’t see the class this lad has, he just needs a run in the team, I was at the game against wolfsburg and he was for me the difference in the second half…get a grip celtic he’s the quality we need
