The Evening Times have tonight refuted an earlier report suggesting Scott Bain would be out for two months.

SunSport reported the ‘exclusive’ earlier this evening that Celtic would be missing their number one goalkeeper for up to 2 months.

However, these reports appear to be exaggerated and Bain is only going to miss the League cup game against Dunfermline through injury. Whether he gets back into the team after that is up to Neil Lennon.

The Evening times writes: “SCOTT Bain is set to miss only one game for Celtic despite fears a hand injury could sideline him for months.”

Bain has come under fire for his performances against Motherwell and Cluj. Craig Gordon has the chance to win the gloves back after being dropped in December 2018.

The only certainty about the position is Gordon WILL be in goals this Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers chose to drop Craig Gordon and Neil Lennon continued with Bain while he was caretaker.

The Irishman has been open to bringing Craig back into the fold and has also played him in a Champions League qualifier this term.

The 36-year-old is in the last year of his contract at Parkhead. It could very well be his last season.
