Numerous Scottish Premiership and English Championship clubs are monitoring Falkirk goalkeeper Scott Bain as he approaches the end of his contract, according to Pete O’Rourke.
The former Celtic stopper signed for the Bairns in the summer and will be a free agent at the end of the season, and his form hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Bain was rewarded for his excellent start to life at Falkirk with a recall to the Scotland squad last month, his first involvement at international level since 2019, as Steve Clarke’s side dramatically secured World Cup qualification.
It marked a remarkable return for a player who many thought had slipped completely off the radar.
The 32-year-old last featured for Scotland in a 2–0 win over San Marino in March 2019. Since then, he spent years on the fringes at Celtic, making just 78 appearances across six seasons as he slipped behind multiple first-choice keepers.
His career appeared to be stalling at Parkhead, but the summer move to Falkirk has completely revitalised him.
Installed immediately as the club’s No.1, Bain has delivered consistently strong performances and has been one of the Bairns’ standout players so far this campaign. With his confidence restored and regular football behind him, a long-awaited international cap could now be within touching distance again.
It’s a brilliant turnaround for Bain, and if he keeps this level up, he won’t be short of options when his contract runs out in the summer.
