Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart celebrated his 37th birthday on Friday amid light-hearted banter from his teammates as he prepares to retire at the end of the season.
The former England international, who announced his decision to retire earlier this year, was greeted with a playful jibe from fellow keeper Scott Bain as they headed out for training.
Bain, who has served as Hart’s understudy, quipped to the cameras, “Happy 50th to Joe Hart today!” A quick to correct Hart replied, “Just for the record, I’m not 50.” Joining in the fun, third-choice keeper Ben Siegrist added, “He’s 49!” bringing laughter among the squad.
The video was uploaded to the club’s TikTok page.
@celticfc 🎉 Happy birthday, Joe Hart! Hope you have a great day! 🎂
Spirits are clearly high in the Celtic camp as they lead the league table and prepare for the Scottish Cup semi-final on Saturday against Aberdeen.
Celtic have a 12.30 kick-off at the National Stadium as Brendan Rodgers looks to maintain his 100% record in the Scottish Cup.
It would be a perfect send-off for Joe Hart if Celtic were to complete the double this season, seeing the ‘keeper win three league titles in his three years in Scotland.
