With the arrival on Benjamin Siegrist this summer questions will be asked about what the future of keeper Scott Bain is.

Joe Hart had cemented his place as Celtic’s first choice keeper with the Englishman playing an integral part last season as the club went on to win the SPFL Premiership and League Cup.

Celtic have already been busy this window moving on some goalkeepers with Ross Doohan and Vasilis Barkas departing the club.

Quadruple Treble cup final hero Conor Hazard featured for HJK Helsinki last night in their Champions League qualifier and it is likely that the Northern Irishman could make his move to Finland permanent.

With that in mind it leaves four Celtic keepers remaining. Hart will continue to be the Hoops first choice keeper with it being expected that Siegrist will be his deputy.

Youngster Tobi Oluwayemi regularly trained with the first team last season and it is hoped that he could one day take over from Joe Hart at the club with the 18-year old contracted to the Scottish Champions until 2024.

This leaves former Dundee keeper Scott Bain with a question mark left beside his name with the 30-year old signing a contract extension at the turn of the year that will keep him at the club until 2024.

Bain featured prominently during Celtic’s catastrophic 2020/21 campaign when he was turned to after multiple poor performances from Greek keeper Barkas.

He isn’t likely to get much time in the sticks at the club this season and may look at a possible loan move away from the club
