Giovanni van Bronckhorst is set to go head-to-head with Celtic once again this weekend, albeit in far more relaxed circumstances.
The former Rangers boss will lace up his boots as part of the Feyenoord Legends team for a special match against Celtic FC Legends this Sunday, October 12, 2025, at De Kuip.
The match, held in honour of Wim Jansen, will see the two historic clubs compete for the Wim Jansen Cup, celebrating the legacy of a man who holds legendary status at both sides. Jansen, who passed away in 2022, famously played and managed Feyenoord and managed Celtic to a title win in 1998, stopping Rangers from making it ten-in-a-row.
On the pitch for Celtic will be a strong legends squad including: Artur Boruc, Lukasz Zaluska, Charlie Mulgrew, Kelvin Wilson, Efe Ambrose, Cristian Gamboa, Lee Naylor, Jonny Hayes, Stiliyan Petrov, Bobby Petta, Ross Wallace, Scott Brown, Barry Robson, Simon Donnelly, Derek Riordan, Georgios Samaras, and Scott McDonald.
Two players, Glenn Loovens and Pierre van Hooijdonk, will split duties and feature for both sides, having worn the shirts of each club during their careers.
