SCOTT BROWN will now miss the next two Champions League games after his appeal was thrown out by UEFA.

The midfielder was sent off in the Barcelona game after kicking out at Brazilian forward Neymar.

Neil Lennon was hopeful the ban would be reduced with Brown making a personal plea to the UEFA disciplinary committee, but this wasn’t enough to sway the panel.

Celtic will now face the two most important games of the campaign without their captain but will be confident they can cope in his absence after the win against Ajax last month.
