Ange Postecoglou brought the pair to the club during his first transfer window in Scotland; Joe Hart was signed early on in the window, while Carter-Vickers joined the Hoops on deadline day on an initial loan.

The English goalie’s personality and experience were a big factor in the former Celtic captain’s thinking, while the CCV just oozes quality.

While speaking to CeltsAreHere.com at a fan media event, to promote ‘A Night with Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig’, he welcomed Celtic’s “exceptional” recruitment, saying:

“I think Joe Hart has been brilliant as well since coming in and we probably lost Fraser [Forster] and Craig [Gordon],” he said.  “We needed a big personality to go in the goals and Joe’s been exceptional, so has Carter-Vickers playing centre half. That’s been two huge signings for Ange. I think the recruitment has been exceptional, the players the manager’s brought in, the way he wants to play and the way he conducts himself as well is exceptional.

“The fans have bought into the way he wants to play. It was hard at the start but changes will take time and he’s implemented them very well, and I’m just delighted that he’s doing so well and the fans are backing him. The lads seem to be enjoying playing because when I watch it, I enjoy watching it as well. And I take a lot from the way they play, I love energy in the team and they seem to have a lot of that.”

The transfer business under Ange has been extremely pleasing, especially given the track record before the Aussie boss came in. He’s completely changed the way that the club operates in the transfer market, and fans are delighted with how its working.

As for his signings, there are very few that haven’t worked out, with Postecoglou and his scouts got a good eye for a player.
