Neil Lennon has a perceived selection issue between playing Ismaila Soro or Scott Brown on Saturday at Ibrox. However, I’d be surprised if the manager is losing any sleep over this particular call.

Knowing Neil Lennon as a manager and seeing what he’s done in the case of Vasilis Barkas, I believe Scott Brown will start the game at Ibrox.

The Celtic manager finds real comfort in some of his older players coming to the forefront in these game. While Scott Brown’s record in these ties has been great overall, the last three or four games, he’s not been at it.

I just can’t see Neil Lennon being brave enough to start Ismaila Soro. His reasoning for Conor Hazard coming out the side is he doesn’t want to shake the lads confidence if he was to have a howler. He is likely to have the same thinking with Soro but knows he’s in the back pocket for emergencies.

On merit, Soro deserves to start and not just because of his incredible strike against Dundee Utd, he’s a live wire in the middle of the park.

He’s not the snarling, intimidating Scott Brown but that doesn’t seem to work anymore in these ties.

Scott will want to prove a point, of course he will, but he’ll have to be at his best to warrant his selection.
