Celtic legend and former captain Scott Brown has been linked with the soon to be vacant St Mirren job, as the Paisley side eye up a quick replacement in the coming days.
The Buddies are soon to be without a manager, as current boss and another former Celtic player Jim Goodwin, gets set to take the role at Pittodrie, replacing Stephen Glass, who was recently sacked after the Dons Scottish Cup exit last weekend.
Brown, who recently brought his 14-year career with the Hoops to an end last summer, is currently a player/coach at the side Goodwin is headed to in the coming days.
However, according to the Daily Record, St Mirren are eyeing up Brown as a potential replacement for the departing manager, with the report stating that they want to hold talks with the 36-year old and that the Dons will allow the ex Celtic man to speak about the role.
Of course, there is no guarantee who will be getting the role as of yet. But, you would imagine it is certainly something Brown is keen on, with an opportunity in the Premiership potentially coming up so soon in his coaching career.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the current vacant role. However, it doesn’t seem out with the realms of possibility that we see the nine-in-a-row skipper standing on the sidelines when the two sides meet at Parkhead at the beginning of March.
