Jonny Hayes announces on a Friday night his Celtic journey was over. This gave way to gratitude being shown by the Celtic support on social media for Jonny’s hard work the past three seasons.

But it’s not just the supporters who are paying tribute to the Irishman but his teammates past and present.

Scott Brown and Kieran Tierney among others have reacted to the players’s post with the Celtic captain making the statement he will be hard to replace in the dressing room.

Mikael Lustig at the end there giving a very warm thanks to his former teammate. Mikael knows himself the heartache of leaving Celtic.

Jonny’s contract had been running down but many believed due to Neil Lennon using him quite often last season he would get a new deal. We have no idea if one was offered but what is clear is the utility man is heading for the Parkhead exit.

  1. I loved wee Jonny, what a great player, run his heart out, and a player with great experience. You can’t buy experience, but Jonny was a great utility player. He’d play his heart out for you and deliver the telling pass. Good luck Jonny wherever you go. Top man!
