Scott Brown took part in a fan Q&A on Celtic’s official Twitter page this afternoon as the former Hoops captain opened up on numerous intriguing matters every supporter would want to hear about.

Brown’s toughest opponent, best manager to have played under, ideal five-a-side team and aspirations to become Celtic manager were all revealed in the session. The 37-year-old was also asked what player from the current crop at Parkhead he wishes he could’ve played with, and it is no surprise he said Reo Hatate:

“He’s got great energy in the middle of the park and he looks like he’s got great drive”

Brown clearly recognises Hatate’s undoubted talent and ability, and it is fair to say the pair would’ve conjured up a masterful midfield partnership had they played together.

Nevertheless, the 37-year-old did line up alongside a number of tremendously talented players in his time at Celtic and from said batch, Brown made up an immense five-a-side team consisting of Fraser Forster, Kieran Tierney, Virgil Van Dijk, Callum McGregor and James Forrest.

All players in Brown’s fives team are of optimum quality, as is who the former Celtic captain named as his toughest ever opponent, Andres Iniesta:

“He was always looking to turn and drive forward and cause problems, and he did!”

Scott Brown was also asked some more luring questions in the Q&A, such as who was the best manager he played under. Despite winning an Invincible Treble under Brendan Rodgers and Nine In A Row with Neil Lennon, Brown named Gordon Strachan as the foremost Celtic boss he was managed by:

“He was the one that brought me to the club and the one that was daft enough to offer that money for me, so Gordon was a huge part of it all”

Brown worked with Strachan at both club and international level, winning several honours under the 66-year-old and in his career, will only aspire to replicate his former manager’s success. As of now, though, Scott Brown remains at Fleetwood Town however, throughout his career, he will assuredly be linked with the managerial position at Celtic. In the Q&A, the 37-year-old was quizzed on this, although he remained reserved regarding it:

“At this moment in time my main focus is on Fleetwood.

I just hope everything keeps going well at Celtic and at Fleetwood.”

Scott Brown has the Cods currently sitting 16th in English League One. They recently bowed out of the FA Cup in the fifth round after a historic run which saw them put the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and QPR to the sword. It must be kept in mind the 37-year-old is still in his first-ever season of management, and wherever he goes throughout the remainder of his career, it is certain Brown will have the backing of Celts everywhere.
