SCOTT BROWN could be set for a dugout role in Celtic’s final eight games of the season it has emerged.

Neil Lennon was told late on Tuesday afternoon his time at the club was up after the defeat to Ross County on Sunday.

The fans have been vocal for months now about Neil Lennon’s position and wanted something done while the season could be salvaged. It’s taken until we were completely dead in the water for Neil Lennon to be removed from his position.

John Kennedy is to step in as interim manager but RecordSport have revealed Scott Brown might be part of his rejigged backroom team for the rest of this term.

It would make sense to move the captain into a more prominent role for now.

Fans are happy Neil has been removed but they will also be making sure the board don’t see Kennedy as a permanent solution.

The coach was part of the failed regime this season and should not be pushed on any new manager coming in this summer.
