Masters football is returning this July and Celtic will be taking part like old times.
The football tournament features retired footballers pulling on the jersey again and playing in a competitive indoor environment.
The company behind the events return have confirmed a box office name for Celtic on their website and we think fans are going to love it.
Celtic legend Scott Brown will CAPTAIN the Celtic team at Glasgow Braehead later this year. Scott has been out of football since leaving Aberdeen earlier this season. His admission to masters football might be a sign that is indeed the end of his football exploits on a professional level.
The website writes: ‘The 360 Sports TV Masters Cup 2022 will likely feature footballing legends such as Liverpool maestro Steve McManaman, Manchester United front man Louis Saha, Rangers hero Barry Ferguson and Celtic icon Scott Brown among a star-studded lineup.’
On the other hand, we get to see Scott pull on the Hoops and hopefully lead the club to victory in the Masters.
The iconic blue pitch will be graced by some newer Celts than when they last played. We’d be up for seeing guys like Chris Sutton coming in to join the Hoops
Here is one of the older squads featuring Darren Jackson, Tommy Johnson and Chic Charnely.
The event is sure to be a great occasion where there will most certainly be a Glasgow Derby showdown. Unless the organisers hail it as a Scott Brown homecoming – then that mob from Govan might want to cancel.
