Celtic legend Scott Brown has told Jamie O’Hara to “get back in his box” after the former Spurs midfielder embarrassed himself live on Sky Sports News by claiming Stockport County could win the Scottish Premiership.
The pundit’s comments came during a fiery debate with Paul John Dykes from A Celtic State of Mind, where O’Hara tried to downplay Celtic’s size and the standard of Scottish football after Wilfried Nancy’s name was mentioned in the Hoops’ ongoing managerial search.
Brown, who captained Celtic through one of the club’s most successful eras, didn’t hold back when speaking to Shebahn Aherne on TikTok:
“Tell Jamie to get back in his box, please.
“I did see the video and talk about Stockport, winning the league up here.
“Like, I know where he’s coming from, both teams are probably thinking, Hearts are top of the league, he’s probably never watched any of the games up in Scotland in a long, long time.
“And there’s been many players come in from the English Premier League and struggled, especially at Celtic and Rangers as well.
“So look, it’s a different environment, and until you’ve been in that environment, I don’t think you really understand what it’s about.
“He’s a fantastic player down the road, and take nothing away from him in that aspect, but he needs to maybe watch a little bit more Scottish football before he can talk about that.”

The comments come after O’Hara’s on-air clash with Dykes went viral and was later pulled from Sky Sports’ X account after backlash.
O’Hara was spouting the nonsense you’d expect to hear on TalkSport, not the broadcaster with the rights to SPFL matches, who should be trying to promote the league.
As the debate spiralled, O’Hara bizarrely claimed Stockport County could win the Scottish Premiership, a line Dykes immediately dismissed as “nonsense.”
The exchange highlighted the gulf between how Celtic are viewed in Scotland versus how some English pundits judge the club from afar. Dykes held firm and represented Celtic very well, getting deserved plaudits on social media.
