Scott Brown might be out of management for now but he hasn’t lost his edge.

The Celtic legend was in London this weekend, taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, and also made an appearance on a podcast discussing whether Celtic and Rangers could compete in England.

Brown broke down the financial gulf, highlighting how relegation from the Premier League can bring in around £100m, while winning the Scottish Premiership earns less than £4m.

But it was one moment that stole the show for Celtic fans.

Making his case, Brown said: “We need to make sure that financially, the clubs are stable…” before turning, pausing and adding “some of them.”

He was appearing on the Midnite Sports YouTube.

A clear dig at Rangers. Dry. Subtle. And perfectly timed.

Even away from the dugout, he’s still finding ways to land a blow in the rivalry.

It’ll be interesting to see where he goes from here. He started off well at Ayr, similar to his time at Fleetwood, but fell away and had a disastrous run of results.

Celtic know that they can’t afford a loss in the final five league games. They need to go on a perfect run if they want to lift the title. Easier said than done, but to even be in a title race this season is all credit to Martin O’Neill.
