Celtic’s attacking midfielder Scott Sinclair thinks Celtic fans would love Steven Gerrard if the club were to sign him in January.

There has been a lot of speculation on Gerrard’s next destination after it was reported he’d be leaving LA Galaxy and wanted a fresh challenge.

When asked about the possibility of the scouser joining the Parkhead club, Scott believed it would be something the fans would relish.

“It would be a massive thing if he came here and fans would take to him.” SAid sinclair.

The Liverpool legend worked with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers at Anfield and is also a keen admirer of the Glasgow club, so say the people around him.

It remains to be seen if there is a deal to be done, the player could add something to the team on a short-term basis but is he really what Rodgers is looking for. When the ridiculous Schweinsteiger rumour came about in the summer Rodgers laughed off the link by saying he wants his midfielders to be able to run.

At the age of 36 is there any gas left in the tank?

  1. Gerrard for Celts? No thanks.5 goals in 34 games in US.Just looking to say he pulled on the Hoops.Wasnt interested earlier in his career.Would rather have Helen Flanagan on the bench !! XX

  2. Would be a tremendous asset for Celtic. He would stroll it up here.Top class player who can spot a pass and be terrific for our kids to learn from.

  3. Take him in a heartbeat
Can’t believe some Celtic fans wouldn’t have him it was only a season ago that Steven Hawkins would have got a game but now that we are flying high we dnt want 1 of the best midfielders that’s played the game even his experience for the young boys to see would be great
C’mon gerrard get the pen on the dotted line????

  4. I wouuld say Steven Gerard would have more than enoughbgas in the tank to make a very positive injection into the team….he would increase and improve service to our frontnmen. H H

  5. Toure came up and sorted the defence and gets the best out of his defender buddies. Gerrard will do the same for the midfield. His wage will cost us but his influence will be priceless
