Over the past few days VG, a Norwegian outlet, has reported Scottish interest in the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, Patrick Berg.

Although the potential bidder hasn’t been revealed, the report states there is interest from clubs in Netherlands and Scotland.

Berg plays for Bodø/Glimt in the Norwegian top division the club currently sits 2nd, just 6 games into their campaign.

Last season Patrick was vital to his club’s first-ever title win. Known for his wide range of passing, Berg is comfortable using both his feet. Playing a similar role to Soro, Berg sits just in front of the defence, even though he plays deep Berg has managed to get on the scoresheet 10 times in his 133 appearances for Bodø/Glimt.

Despite being relatively young the Norwegian international has captained his side in the Eliteserien and has represented his country 4 times.

Patrick Berg would cost Celtic 15 million kroner – £1.3 million. Bodø/Glimt are not willing on letting the energetic player leave for any less.

With Celtic on the hunt to replace captain Scott Brown, Celtic are likely the team keeping tabs on the Midfielder.
