BRENDAN RODGERS has revealed that Semi-Final linesman Frankie Connor took the unusual step of visiting the Celtic dressing room after the game to apologise for his decision.

Celtic were 2-0 up and cruising when the linesman told the referee Kevin Glancy that he should award the penalty for Dedryk Boyata’s clean challenge. Going on his assistant’s advice, Glancy pointed to the spot and Stokes converted to make it a highly pulsating second half. Luckily Celtic had the ability to keep the game out of Hibernian’s reach.

“The linesman came in after the game and apologised. He said to Dedryk that he made a mistake, it takes a lot of courage to do that” said the Celtic gaffer.

It wasn’t the first time Celtic have had a raw deal at Hampden and crass officials wash their hands of some ludicrous decisions down the years that have seen Celtic drop out competitions.

At least this man Frankie Connor has owned up to his mistake.

  1. What would the feelings be about it if we had lost due to that decision. Do you think he would have still come and apologised?

  2. I was annoyed at the time. I’m still annoyed. However, I am glad he apologised.
Brendan was big enough to acknowledge it.

  3. Give the guy credit we all wish we never made mistakes in life but we do well done Mr Connor I’m sure you will get a lot of respect from a lot of the Celtic supporter particularly me
    Hope your colleagues take note
