Adam Idah’s fitness remains in question after a reckless challenge during Celtic’s 3-0 victory over Motherwell.
The Irishman, who found the net before the incident, was on the receiving end of a crunching tackle from Motherwell’s Liam Gordon, which led to a straight red card for the defender after a VAR check.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has now confirmed on Tuesday to CeltsAreHere during his pre-match press conference that Idah has been sent for a scan to determine the extent of his injury. While initial assessments have seen him placed in a protective boot, Rodgers noted that the club would not know how long Idah might be sidelined until they receive the scan results.
Idah’s potential absence could be a blow for Celtic with games coming thick and fast. The attacker could miss their weekend’s cup semi-final and there’s also a champions league game against Leipzig on the horizon.
Brendan Rodgers will be holding his breath so he has Idah as an option. Celtic’s attacking options become severely finished without the big man available with more resting on the shoulders of Kyogo.
