It is being reported that Serie A club Monza are in talks to sign Celtic fullback Josip Juranovic [@NicoSchira].

If the 27-year-old was to make the switch to the Italian side, it is believed that initially the deal would be a loan with option to buy which would become an obligation if they stayed in Serie A.

The club currently sit 15th in the league and it would likely come as a surprise to many if the deal went ahead.

Juranovic was a standout player for Croatia at the World Cup as they finished third in the tournament.

In recent weeks, speculation about his future has been intensifying as Celtic signed  Canadian international Alistair Johnston who is likely his fellow fullback’s replacement.

Johnston was given the nod to start at Ibrox in the New Year’s derby at right back and had it not been for Greg Taylor’s injury it is unlikely that Juranovic would have featured for the league leaders.

A move to Monza would be very surprising as the Croat has been linked to moves to sides such as Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea [Sky Sports].

There is still plenty of time for a bidding war to commence but at present, the Hoops are yer to receive any concrete offers for the former Legia Warsaw defenders services who is contracted to the Scottish champions until 2026.

  1. This is complete nonsense. What is disappointing is so-called Celtic websites regurgitate main stream media rubbish. They have knocked 10 million off his value. Tam McManus wrote that he had damaged his value because of his shocking display against the Rangers. One game. Does his performance against Brazil not cancel that out or balance it up. He only played an hour against them for goodness sake. The asking price should be 25 million. He is not worth that but if Bassey was worth 22 million and Patterson 16 million then 25 million is not entirely unreasonable.
