BARI Sporting Director Sean Sogliano opened up about the deal that brought Scottish midfielder Liam Henderson to Italy.
In a move that surprised many Henderson chose to head to Bari instead of going to a lower league team in England, which is the route taken by the many.
Reports suggest that Celtic didn’t push Liam into a move down south, even though Celtic would benefit financially from a deal with an English club.
Instead, they let the player decide where his next move would be and negotiated a price after it became apparent Liam wanted to join the Italian side.
Bari’s sporting director was delighted to get their mam.
” Liam Henderson ‘s transfer was seven months in the making for us.
“We ended up signing him for only 130,000 euros. Last year we were told he would cost 2 million euros.
There were also a number of clubs who wanted to sign him too, like Preston North End for example.
“He has signed a two-and-a-half year deal and we also have a renewal option. It’s a very good piece of business.”
