The only time that most Celtic players are used to facing off against one another is in training on a day-to-day, non-competitive basis.

However, that is set to change for many of this current squad across the next international break.

Several of the first-team squad will be head-to-head in a number of fixtures as World Cup qualifying for Qatar 2022 continues and heads towards its ending.

Closer to home, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull will face off against Nir Bitton and Liel Abada, with Scotland & Israel playing out what could be a crucial game in the outcome of this group this coming Saturday.

Both Kyogo Furuhashi and Tom Rogic aren’t that used to seeing their teammates, with the duo travelling across the world to feature for Japan and Australia.

The two nations will go head-to-head next Tuesday, though. Let’s hope Rogic will have warned his teammates against sustaining any injury on Kyogo after the disaster the last international break caused.

Finally, Albian Ajeti – on his recall to the Swiss international side will be up against Conor Hazard and Northern Ireland.

The main thing for many Celtic supporters this international break is that none of the first-team stars picks up some sort of injury – which would be just our luck this season.

We will be keeping an eye on these games to see that they came through them with a clean bill of health.
