SFA Compliance officer Claire Whyte is to leave her post at Hampden just two years after she took on the role.

The official news came this morning that the person tasked with keeping discipline in Scottish football has decided enough is enough.

The compliance officer role has been under a lot of scrutiny in recent times with both Glasgow clubs questioning the role and the discrepancies in the system.

Whyte will leave her role in the new year and we’re not sure what’s next for the position or if this will usher in reform in the way the SFA handles disciplinary matters.

We have seen over the years the lack of consistency in what goes on. Ryan Christie was retroactively banned last year for an offence on Alfredo Morelos, however, this was after the same striker was let off with a retroactive ban for his own challenge on Ryan during a previous fixture.

We await the SFA’s next move.

  1. Well, well, she did nothing but follow orders and cause problems. Hopefully, the replacement will be their own person and stop the stupid “do as I tell you” brigade.
If it’s at all possible can we have someone with an inkling of understanding about football?
Enjoy your retirement, Mrs. Whyte, to you it was probably just another tick on the CV.
A total waste of time! clowns every one of them.
