The Glasgow Derby is still scheduled to go ahead on January 2nd at this moment in time.

A lot of things can change between now and then, but for the moment, we’re treating it like it will go ahead as planned.

The emergence of a new variant is a cause for real concern and as we get further down the line, social contact might have to regress in order to get things under control over the winter.

If the game does go ahead, the SFA has confirmed the referee for the first Glasgow Derby of 2022 will be none other than Willie Collum.

We know by now, it’s only one of a handful of referees who get this gig on a regular basis. The Hoops have avoided Beaton and Madden – which is something but Collum has been known for many calamitous decisions over the years.

Celtic’s last-minute winner against Ross County kept the Hoops in touch with their Glasgow rivals, if they can keep going until January, there’s a real chance to put pressure on the current closed-door champions.
