It looks like we will have a decision today on whether Sam Cosgrove will have his ban upheld after Aberdeen got their wish of a fast track hearing on Christmas Eve.  If the player is cleared then he’s free to play in the Boxing Day game according to the Scotsman.

Cosgrove got a straight red for lunging at Kristoffer Ajer in a corner of the pitch there was absolutely no call or rational explanation to do so.

The striker, who had scored earlier in the game clearly cut a frustrated figure when Celtic retook the lead and when Ajer stopped the ball from coming his way he lashed out.

Derek McInnes claims his player shouldn’t have been sent off. However, he lunged at Kristoffer Ajer with reckless intent and left both his feet at pace – in real time it looked horrible.

When you slow it down on a replay it doesn’t look as bad but Aberdeen know they can get joy out of this broken SFA system so they have nothing to lose by asking the question.
