Whilst Hampden Park has been a happy hunting ground for Celtic in recent years – most fans would probably agree that going to the countries national stadium isn’t exactly the best of experiences.

At the weekend, some Scotland fans were met with issues in trying to enter the stadium to watch the nation take on Israel in front of a sell-out crowd.

It is believed that around 15 minutes after kick-off, there were pictures of supporters still waiting to get in to see the action. This caused some to blame the Covid vaccine passport trial, which is currently in place.

Ahead of Celtic’s trip to Hampden next month, this might have left some Hoops fan wondering whether these sorts of delays will remain come Saturday 20th of November.

It was revealed by the SFA, via SNP’s Humza Yousaf, though, that these delays were nothing to do with the vaccine checks, and it appears to simply have been the sheer amount of people trying to get into the stadium as close to the game as possible.

As Celtic fans will know well, there have been many issues in the past for several of these Hampden fixtures, with long queues and other delays being the norm for cup ties and international games at the stadium regularly.

Somehow this is still an issue, which needs to be resolved. So, hopefully, added in with the introduction of the vaccine passport checks, we can see a solution to this sort of problem in the near future.
