THE SFA has set a hearing for Rangers Women’s coach, Craig McPherson.

The coach headbutted Celtic manager Fran Alonso after the 1-1 draw between the two sides on Monday night in what was an unprovoked attack.

McPherson will face the SFA hearing on April 13th following the incident. He’s allegedly breached Disciplinary Rule 77. [SFA]

Celtic has already condemned the incident, but it’s been radio silence from the club across the city. Police Scotland has also said that they are investigating the incident.

After a show of great resilience from the Ghrils, with the match on Sky Sports for the first time since the deal was agreed upon, it’s disappointing that this has been the talking point after the match. A 99th-minute equaliser from Caitlin Hayes saw Celtic remain in the Champions League spot, but the point does dwindle Celtic’s title hopes.

It was a cowardly attack on the Celtic women’s manager, and it has no place in football whatsoever.
