It comes as no shock that this has been leaked to the press from someone at the SFA but it would appear Alex McLeish is likely to be relieved of his duties by the end of the week according to RecordSport.
The hapless Scotland boss has stumbled from one bad result to the next with the Kazakhstan result being an absolute shocker. It’s not just McLeish but his backroom team who have been a detriment to his second spell as Scotland manager – specifically James McFadden who had a visible on-field bust-up with Callum McGregor and allegedly had a behind the scenes one with Leigh Griffiths last year.
Former Celtic player and coach Peter Grant is likely to leave his position also.
Scotland fans were happy to see Gordon Strachan leave the post eventually, wanting someone fresh to come into the post and instead they got McLeish – a man who walked out on his country the last time around. The old boys’ network in Scottish football paying dividends for the former EBT man.
The fact he was allowed anywhere near the Scotland job after his part in the EBT scandal at Ibrox tells its own story. Hopefully, we see the back of him in the coming days.
