Shakhter Karagandy boss Victor Kumykov singled out Georgios Samaras as one of Celtic’s biggest threats ahead of his sides Champions League play off match against Celtic.

During his post match interview after his team were victorious the Shakhter gaffer was quizzed on where he sees Celtic’s biggest threat coming from. He said:

The attackers and the wingers. Especially, the Greek striker Samaras, and then Forrest and Commons.

He went on to say.

“We’ve watched enough games to understand how well the opponent is playing. They appear to have a rotation system. The Scots have 20 players, all of a high class, which allows you to play football, without compromising its quality. Any player may enter the field, and play equivalent.”

“We will play very strictly, both in defence and in attack. The most important thing is to not lose at home, and to try to score.”

Samaras has been at the heart of some of Celtic’s positive European results in the last couple of years and will prove a handful for Karagandy.

The Hoops arrived in Kazkahstan yesterday ahead of Tuesdays game and Neil Lennon and his team know they are going to have to be at their best to get a result.

There is so much at stake for both teams.

Neil is hoping to have nearly a full squad to choose from. New signing Derk Boerrigter could feature and Van Dijk is pushing for a start.

We wish the Bhoys all the best for Tuesday!

COYBIG!
