Celtic have started making their moves in the transfer market. The window officially opened yesterday but dialogue has been going on before that about signing potential targets.
One name very high up that list is Blackburn defender Shane Duffy.
The Republic of Ireland international was scouted by Celtic last season and it’s thought the scouting team have brought Rodgers up to speed on the defender.
If you follow Shane on social media you will know he is a Celtic fan and reports from his camp suggest the 24-year-old would walk over broken glass to sign on at Celtic Park.
All that really stands in the way is the fee Blackburn want for his services. Celtic are willing to spend around £2million on the transfer but the Ewood Park club look to be dragging their heels a little.
Defence is something Brendan Rodgers wants to seriously look at and you can expect at least two defenders in, with some heading out of Parkhead.
